Digital and traditional radiology

The Federico Radiology Studio has "digital radiology" equipment based on the use of highly advanced instruments for image acquisition with related reprocessing. In order to satisfy continuous technological evolution and respect the environment, the exams are delivered on computer support (CD). In any case it is possible to request the examination on x-ray film at an additional cost.

The following digital radiology tests are performed:

• Radiographs of the entire skeleton

• Chest and teleheart x-ray

• Orthopantomography and telecranium

• Mammography with Tomosynthesis

• Direct kidneys and abdomen

• X-ray esophagus, stomach and duodenum (digestive first tract)

• X-ray esophagus, stomach, duodenum and colon (complete digestive system)

• Barium esophagus x-ray

• Skull x-ray

• X-ray of the spine in orthostatism on a squared plate

• Tracheal x-ray

• Weight-bearing lower limb x-ray

Radiographs of the dental arches

Dental radiology is performed during a check-up or treatment and allows for an in-depth view of the mouth and head with the related dental and bone tissues.

For dental radiology exams we use cutting-edge equipment that uses Cone-Beam technology (CBCT) and performs exams in a single semicircular scan ideal for studying the maxillofacial complex.

- Dental overview, also called Orthopantomography (OPT): radiographic technique that provides visualization of the dental arches, mandibular and maxillary bones, and maxillary sinuses on a single radiographic image.

-Teleradiography of the skull in various projections for orthodontics (AP-LL-PA): examination often required to carry out the cephalometric study and observe the growth characteristics, the relationships of the jaws, the profile of the face and the characteristics of the soft tissues.

-Dentascan (Cone Beam): this exam is a real three-dimensional CT scan. It is the fundamental examination for performing dental prostheses and endosseous implants, complicated root canals, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pathologies and as a pre-operative examination for "impacted teeth".
